Imagination
I used to play at Pirates,
And sailed the seven seas.
Then I was a cowboy,
These simple things did me please.
I had a vivid imagination,
Adventure was always on my mind.
I discovered the joys of reading,
And escaped the daily grind.
Once I lived with the Eskimos,
In the land of ice and snow,
Went hunting and a fishing,
My fantasy was all aglow.
In my world of fantasy and imagination,
I performed such wonderful deeds.
A Hero of all the Nations,
I was the one that did succeed.
Then I grew up my childish world at an end.
I had become serious it nearly drove me around the bend.
I still do like the mysterious,
This is the message I am trying to send.

As my two oldest children played 'keep out of the lava'...our oldest boy Cole was saving his sister from the depths of lava...pulling on her arm, keeping her safe, trying to get her to the top of our slide...
POP...
Peyton instantly cried...Cole felt horrible...A little visit to the doctor's and she popped the elbow back in place. Many tears were cried...but, today at the park, I caught a bit of imaginitive play again...I'm glad they are alright! She's a trooper!
Mommy was sad for her little one...but at least we won't have a cast for the upcoming wedding...phew!

girlfriend! oh my goodness... that was a scare!
ugh... how did you bear that! they had to pop it back!
bless her heart... bless you!
SO glad that it was a quickly-repaired injury. I am sorry for the pain that you all endured, and glad it's over! I will bet that they will enjoy telling the story of their bravery (the "lava rescue" and the trip to the doc) when it's a bit more in the past...God bless you.
Ouch! And sorry...
That poem was Bernard Shaw, huh? I honestly thought it was lyrics to a Jimmy Buffett song. ;-)
I got total chalk board chills when I read "POP" and that it had to be popped back it. I don't do well with stuff like that.
uhhh...not to mention that your sweet baby girl didn't get swallowed up in the lava pit!
I love imaginative play.....I hate the e.r. and sometimes the two just seem to go together. Hoping for a safer weekend!!
